Our Team
Rick Smith
Richard Preston (Rick) Smith is a Certified Public Accountant, a native Oregonian and a graduate of Oregon State University. He began his career in public accounting in 1979 while still a student at OSU when, ahead of his peers, he managed to obtain a position with a local CPA firm. Since that time he has continually engaged in public accounting with a focus on income tax services, consulting and accounting for small to medium sized businesses in a variety of industries.
Rick served as a bank director for a community bank for eight years and prior to that was a director for a credit union for eight years. That experience provided insight as to lending practices and procedures by financial institutions and insight benefits his client base when they have bank financing needs. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of CPAs.
Krista Nunn
Krista Nunn is a 2007 graduate of Western Oregon University where she earned her bachelors in accounting with a minor in economics. She is a Licensed Tax Consultant (LTC) and an Enrolled Agent (EA), as well as being QuickBooks Online Certified.
Prior to joining RP Smith CPA in 2013, she worked for a regional CPA firm where she was a member of the tax department with a focus on construction contractors and agribusiness clients.
She continues to expand her expertise in the preparation of individual, partnership, corporate and trust tax returns. Krista is completely versed in the administration and delivery of our service offerings via our modern digital systems.
KATHY GORDON
Kathy Gordon is a Certified Public Accountant, and has worked in the accounting industry since 1991. Prior to that, Kathy worked in the savings and loan industry for 14 years. She brings significant experience in taxation & business consulting for telecommunications and utility companies, not-for-profit organizations, small businesses, trusts & estates, and individuals.
She has a strong background in the unique financial and tax aspects of utility cooperative businesses, and works with businesses of all kinds to provide strategic planning and guidance.
